The Good and the Bad of Missing someone

Here is an expansion of my previous post: Missing someone

Missing someone

Missing someone You miss someone who you’ve lost – either due to death / a break-up. You miss someone close to you who’s gone away for a while and you’ve been separated by time and space for longer than you’ve ever been. You may even have moments in a day where you miss a person when you walk by something that reminds them of you – even though you know you’re going to be seeing them at the end of the day. There are various moments and reasons for missing someone – and it is okay. What does compromise you, however – is when you either judge the fact that you’re missing someone and suppressing the experience or adding more emotion into the experience of missing someone, where the moment of ‘missing’ transmutes into an emotional experience of sadness, pain, loss, despair and even escalating into a depression. I have been through both extremes in my life – sometimes judging myself for missing someone, other times allowing the missing to become too emotional and there hav...

From Challenges to Breakthroughs - the Process of Self Change

From Challenges to Breakthroughs - the Process of Self Change From clapping hands, to high-fives, to blowing kisses…now learning to do the fist bump with the word “boom” afterwards lol This little dude is learning so fast in this phase of his developmental process. What’s been standing out for me in his process of learning is how much and how fast he processes information. Sometimes he gets it immediately, especially when it’s something he hasn’t done before like the fist bump. Other times he takes some time, for instance: we tried show ing him how to eat spaghetti by holding the string with your lips and sucking it in – but he’d already become accustomed to using both hands and instead stuffing it in his mouth and has stuck to that…for the moment lol In observing his process I looked at process in general in terms of the extent to which we ingrained patterns of thinking, reacting and behaving - that it takes time to change them as they’ve become so much part of ...

The Value I give Relationships and Relationships gift to Me

Image
The Value I give Relationships and Relationships gift to Me   I have walked a long path with these two ladies and many of you may relate to having people in your life for many years as well. You very seldom hear of people walking a path together in this one life that stretches over many years, also here looking at ‘friendships’ – where a connection / relationship between you has been kept ‘alive’ so to speak. This is odd though in terms of such an occurrence being ‘rare’…how seldom we can keep the various people and relationships we’re exposed to ‘alive’. We never know what changes we may face in our individual lives – moving away, conflicts / fighting, illness, death etc. – but a common thing I have found is that when change comes, in all different shapes and sizes within a relationship, we very easily accept and allow this change to compromise the relationship in some way or another and very easily ‘break ties’ so to speak. One thing I’d like to share that I’ve b...

Time is always against us…

Image
Time is always against us… I recently read an article about scientists discovering a breakthrough regarding longevity and reversing ageing. This brought up a question within me: if I could reverse my ageing process – would I? If I could live longer, even reach immortality – would I? Wow! There’s so many dimensions to consider within this question, but mainly – I looked at the following: Each person on this earth has the potential to develop their particular skills they are naturally born with or inherently able to cultivate. However, I find such potentials to be inhibited / oppressed by, for example the education systems only rearing individuals into jobs within the World System to survive; but then again, an education and a life / surviving in this world is not guaranteed for all equally due to how Money controls humanity / this earth at the moment. It’s essentially that each person on this earth has not had a chance / opportunity to truly develop themselves, who the...

No Matter W-HERE I Am - I am HERE

No Matter W-HERE I Am - I am HERE Woke up to this moment early this morning on the farm and reminded me of when I came from a ‘city girl life’ to a ‘farm girl life’. Initially was quite the adjustment, everything about your lifestyle changes – especially when it comes to tending to and caring for the animals and the farm in general. For those who will ever face such a transition in life – either from the city to a farm or vice versa: Transition, as with any process of change – takes time. Give yourself the space and time to adapt and make a decision within yourself to resource from your surrounding environment that which will support you to make it your home. It may not always be what you want / like and may be a challenging experience depending on your relocation, but hold to the things that supports you to connect with the new place / space in a way where you can ground yourself / root yourself in your new location. In this focusing on you creating yourself / you...
